The Deutsche Digitale Bibliothek is Germany's central national portal for culture and science. The portal aims to eventually link up the digital offerings of up to 30,000 German cultural and scientific institutions, making the nation's cultural heritage accessible worldwide to all its citizens in digital form and from any screen - and for the most part free of charge.

The Deutsche Digitale Bibliothek is Germany's contribution to , the European Digital Library. Europeana makes cultural assets from all member states of the European Union accessible worldwide through the Internet.
